Both Lenor's books are as inspiring a read as any
you'll ever have. Not only does Lenor offer wisdom and
strength to those coming to terms with their own loss,
but she offers us mere mortals a touchstone for raising
teenagers, looking for meaningful work, and finding love.
~ Kim Bomley, Produer at Lucas Film LTD.
If you've ever contemplated your memoirs don't miss the
opportunity to meet a truly unique individual for whom
personal memoir became a transformation.
~ Victoria Livingstone, Feature film animation and visualization specialist.
Fantastic! From the first paragraph "Women of a Certain Age" grabs you and won't let you go until the end - and then you want to read it again!
Lenor's writing ability is phenomenal! How she intertwined her friend's stories with hers and then at the end of each chapter, summoned them up with her kind of poetry!
I give "Women of a Certain Age," written by Lenor Madruga Chappell a Big 5 Stars from beginning to end! ~
Diane Harris
Great book! I just read this book and it was fabulous. I gave it five stars. What was truly wonderful about it was that even though it’s about women of a certain age, and sometimes very sad, it is never maudlin, and often very funny! And all its stories, from varied women of a certain age, smack of reality, with absolutely no BS! ~
Earnest Brawley (Author) .
Absolutely Stunning! Although I am not yet a "woman of a
certain age," my mom told me about this book and urged
me to read it - she always has great recommendations! I
found "Women of a Certain Age" to be a unique and
engrossing book for women of all ages. Reading the
heartfelt, hilarious, and honest life experiences of
these women on their personal experiences traversing the
later years of life is enlightening, and, at times, jaw
dropping. Women speaking frankly on their strengths and
weaknesses, their triumphs and their losses, and how
they were able to overcome the hardest difficulties life
had to throw at them, or simply just what health and
skin care regimen they are glad they had followed now
that they are "there" in old age! The author, Lenor's,
shaping of the narrative with her inspiring, funny, and
very candid stories and insights really ties all of the
individual narratives together. What a wonderful book! ~

for all the women you know. ~ Suzie Q.
Inspired Insights & Fresh Invitations for Aging with
Wisdom. I LOVED the courage and candor Lenor and her
tribe of friends shared for navigating the lessons and
challenges, and most especially the adventures they have
all had. What lives ! Special to capture all of these
voices in one volume …looking forward to their reunion
…they should go on a book tour! ~ T. Scott
Fabulous! I am a “woman of a certain age” and I LOVED
this book! The stories told by Lenor Chappel’s friends
interspersed with Lenor’s profound observations about
her life are so very relatable. I bought copies to share
with my friends of a “certain age”. ~ A.C.

One Step at A Time is a story that rings true-to-life at
every turn of the page. A must reading for people
experiencing life-altering events. The Next Leg of My
Journey is quite a different book. It is not about
amputation. Rather, is about how Lenor surmounts other
crisis, ones that are too frequently faced by us
"ordinary" people. ~ Richard Mooney, InMotion Magazine
